LCK powerhouse T1 has just confirmed its roster for the 2022 season. Fans will be excited to learn that legendary mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok will be staying with the team. Joining him, rising stars Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon and Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong have re-signed with T1 on multi-year deals. Ryu “Keria” Min-seok also retains his spot as T1's support, while the departure of Kim “Canna” Chang-dong means Choi “Zeus” Woo-je will be the starting top laner next season.

T1 revealed the roster through a series of social media posts after announcing the contract extensions of Oner and Gumayusi. While Faker's perennial stardom certainly helped, the pair had already begun making a name for themselves in the 2021 season. As still young players, Oner and Gumayusi have both impressed in their respective jungle and ADC roles.

Most notably, fans admired the continued strong showings of T1's young guns amid the pressure of being on the international stage in the recently concluded World Championship. By putting up a phenomenal run through that competition, T1 showcased yet again that they still belong to the top echelon of teams worldwide.

They handily topped the group stage and took care of business in sweeping Hanwha Life Esports during the quarterfinals. In the semifinal round of the knockout stage, T1 pushed then-reigning champions Damwon Gaming to a full five games. Although the team fell in the end, fans are hopeful that they can build on this solid season. They anticipate T1 to continue improving until they can reclaim the throne in the LCK and internationally.

Gumayusi in particular is now regarded among the top players in his position, not just in Korea but globally. His bot lane partner in Keria of course also deserves due credit. They may become one of the more menacing bot duos in the LCK next year. Although, admittedly the region is looking quite stacked as per usual given all these roster moves. T1 also called up support player Kim “Asper” Tae-gi from the youth squad to the main roster.
