It has been over a year since Tayshaun Prince played in his last NBA game.

However, Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press is reporting that the 37-year-old is now considering possibly pursuing a career in the NBA as a coach or in a role with an NBA front office.

Two persons with firsthand knowledge of the situation told the Free Press recently that Prince was with the Memphis Grizzlies during the Las Vegas Summer League earlier this month.

One person said the interest has yet to result in an actual job but did not rule out the possibility of joining the coaching ranks or the front office.

Prince has a vast amount of experience in the NBA playing 14 years in the league primarily with the Detroit Pistons, where he won an NBA title while establishing himself as one of the better defenders in the league. He also spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies, Boston Celtics, and Minnesota Timberwolves in the latter portion of his career.

The transition to being a coach could be a smooth one given his knowledge of the game. There have been many players before him that have chosen that route after their playing days in the NBA. It's also not uncommon to see former players take up front office positions around the league.

It could be just a matter of time before Prince lands one of these jobs with an NBA team likely being one of the organizations that he played for during his playing days.
