The TCU Horned Frogs aren't reading too much into being picked last in the Big 12 preseason media poll.

TCU will have a new-look roster this season with only a few players returning, so perhaps it's not all that surprising to see the team picked low.

However, you won't find that bothering Desmond Bane, the league's top returning scorer.

“Preseason polls are just to get everybody talking,” said guard Desmond Bane via the Associated Press. “We’re not going to finish 10th, that’s for sure.”

Bane averaged 15.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game last season and figures to lead the charge on a squad that will feature a plethora of newcomers.

And considering how many newcomers there are on the roster, head coach Jamie Dixon understands the low ranking in the preseason poll.

“Obviously we’re not picked very high,” coach Jamie Dixon said. “That’s to be expected when you return so few guys.”

The Horned Frogs start the season on Nov. 7 against Southwestern.
