Video: Jazz star Donovan Mitchell comes out of nowhere to swat shot attempt off backboard in Team USA win

After a convincing win over Spain a couple of days ago in their exhibition match at Anaheim, Team USA continued to ride a good wave of momentum against the Aussies with the victory in Melbourne. Mitchell had 13 points in the win.
The two sides will face each other one more time on Saturday before the Americans face the Canadian squad on Monday.
There have been a lot of doubts about Team USA over the past couple of months, which were magnified even more when they lost twice to a team comprised of G League and overseas players in recent scrimmages. That served as a wake-up call, as the Americans have played better since. Yes, there are still some areas of their game that needs improvement, especially on the defensive end, but they still have some time to work out the kinks.
After their exhibition season, Team USA will head to China to compete in the FIBA World Cup from Aug. 31-Sept. 15. While some may think they’re prime for an upset, the members of the national team are confident that they can win gold.
Based on the performances against Spain and Australia, Donovan Mitchell and Team USA might just be good enough to dominate the rest of the competition.
