Free agent point guard Nate Robinson has not enjoyed the benefits of the cap rising, and he currently remains unsigned.

According to Marc J. Spears, the reason might be due to his interest in the NFL.

NBA free agent Nate Robinson hasn't been receiving much interest from teams; his public interest in playing in NFL didn't help, source says

Robinson has also been inconsistent with his ability to stay healthy, only being able to play 88 games in the last three seasons after tearing his ACL in 2014. At the beginning of the year, he played with the New Orleans Pelicans, but his tenure was short lived. He was waived after two games, posting one steal and three assists with five personal fouls against the Golden State Warriors, and one assist against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Robinson was drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the 21st pick in the 2005 draft, before quickly being traded to the Knicks along with Quentin Richardson, with Kurt Thomas and Dijon Thompson coming the other direction.

He played with the Knicks for 5 seasons, then the Celtics, Thunder, Warriors, Bulls, Nuggets, Clippers, Pelicans, and Hapoel Tel Aviv. Over his NBA career, he has averaged 11 points, 2.3 rebounds, three assists, and almost a steal. Nate Robinson is 32, and if he stays relatively healthy, I think he can contribute some where in the league.
