In a rapid turn of events, it turns out that Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater won't be suiting up at all in their Week 11 encounter against the Detroit Lions. After initial reports of being activated, Bridgewater was eventually deactivated and will remain out for the Panthers, per ESPN‘s Adam Schefter.

PJ Walker will get the start in Bridgewater's place.

Bridgewater has been dealing with pain in his knee which was then diagnosed as a sprained MCL injury. He attempted to gut it out in their Week 10 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but was only limited to 136 passing yards on an 18/24 passing completion along with two passing touchdowns for the Panthers.

He failed to bear the pain and eventually left in the fourth quarter with PJ Walker slotting in to put the finishing touches on the game. The lopsided game eventually ended as a 46-23 loss for the Panthers who dropped to a dismal 3-7 record.

The former XFL standout in PJ Walker will be handling the reins with QB3 Will Grier backstopping him from the sidelines. Head coach Matt Rhule and the rest of the team will be facing a tall task as they go up against a Lions squad who is coming off a tightly-contested victory in Week 10.

With both Teddy Bridgewater and running back Christian McCaffrey ruled out of their upcoming tilt, the Panthers will have to find ways to get their act together in order to finally end their five-game losing skid.
