The 2020 NFL Draft is loaded with wide receiver talent. One of the best in the country right now is Clemson product Tee Higgins. During the Tigers' run to the National Championship last season, Higgins put his name on the map by making some tough catches in traffic.

Higgins finished last season with 936 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had 81 yards and a score against Alabama in the title game. This season, Higgins has continued his production with 799 yards and eight touchdowns. There is no doubt that Higgins will help a team in the NFL. He is a projected first-rounder along with many other talented receivers.

Come draft night, which team will get the chance to land this big, talented receiver? If Higgins is on the board when the New Orleans Saints are on the clock, they might become a match made in heaven.

Is Higgins a fit in New Orleans?

The Saints have arguably the best receiver in the league in Michael Thomas. They recently signed him to a long-term extension and rightfully so. He has put up incredible numbers early on in his career but the Saints have not had much production from their other receiver spots.

Last season, Thomas led the Saints in both targets and receptions. Alvin Kamara was second in both categories followed by Benjamin Watson who was third in both. So far in 2019, Thomas and Kamara lead the pack once again with a significant drop after. Ted Ginn has 24 catches on the season which is fifth on the Saints and he is the second leading wide receiver behind Thomas.

The Saints are a team that throws the ball at a high rate. Drew Brees is still playing elite football and he could use some new weapons at receiver. Enter Higgins. At 6'4, Higgins possess all of the physical tools needed to be a successful receiver in the NFL. What sets him apart is his IQ on the field.

Higgins knows how to use his size to get position on defenders. He can use his speed to create separation and make tough catches. When Clemson is near the goal line, Higgins is a jump ball option because of his ability to box out defenders.

The Saints should be in the market for a receiver in the first round of the 2020 draft. There will be receivers taken in the top 10 such as Jerry Jeudy from Alabama and Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb. Higgins is a first round prospect who will be available later in the draft and will land on a good team. For both player and team, Higgins on the Saints seems like a match that could be successful for quite some time.
