Frustrations are building for Brooklyn Nets players.

Such is life when you have the worst record in the NBA.

On New Year's Eve, the players were visibly frustrated with each other on the court and that then extended to the locker room after the game against the Wizards.

Via the New York Post:

“It was in the locker room. We handled it. It’s important we all have respect for each other and also have the ability to hold each other accountable,’’ Brook Lopez said of the flared tempers, first reported by The Post. “It was just frustrating. It was emotional and a frustrating game, and guys were just venting. I don’t know what was necessarily correct or who said what, but the important thing is it happened.

“It’s not something we’ve had to repeatedly deal with this season. It’s something that happens with every team over the course of the year. We addressed it. It’s an emotional game; obviously emotions were running high. We talked about it as a team. We addressed it as players.”

Head coach Kenny Atkinson was actually fine with the reaction from his players and how they handled their frustration.

“I intervene a lot; the coaches intervene a lot and [Saturday] was about getting to work … sometimes it has to be player-led. Through all of this, I think they understand what happened. I didn’t need to give them this huge presentation,’’ Atkinson said. “I love them holding each other accountable … that’s coaches, too. I have to hold them accountable, but say it in a positive way.”

The Nets came into this season with possibly the worst roster in the league. It was always going to be a struggle.

The good news: the 2017 NBA Draft class appears to be loaded.
