With the AFC South coming down as a tight battle between the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, Tennessee was able to pull away and secure an AFC South Championship. However, if they plan to repeat that performance the front office will need to maintain the successful offense while improving the defense.

Tennessee has two main weapons on the offense hitting the free-agent market and it's not likely they sign both of them back. The front office will have to decide on who to keep between Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis. Between the two, replacing Smith would be a tad more difficult, which is why he should be the one returning this offseason.

The Titans pass rush was one of the worst in the league last year. Finishing with just 19 total sacks as a team, it's obvious what the front office plans to do this offseason. Free agency is stacked with pass-rushing talent and the Titans might double-dip in the open market.

The NFL draft should be interesting for the Titans, as they'll be looking to fill some needs with some young talent. With the recent release of Malcolm Butler, the front office might be searching for another cornerback in the draft. This draft class is rather top-heavy in that position, which means the Titans could be taking a corner sooner rather than later.

Additionally, the Titans will be searching for some youth in the front-seven, particularly pass rushers. If Tennessee can secure one of the top pass rushers in free agency, then draft a prospect within the first two rounds, the defense suddenly has the potential to massively improve next year. Here are four bold predictions for the Tennessee Titans in the 2021 offseason.

Tennessee Titans Bold Prediction: Re-Sign Jonnu Smith

The Titans finished last year with one of the best offenses in the league, but this offseason, the front office will have to decide to keep Jonnu Smith or Corey Davis. The fan base is divided between the two, but at the end of the day, Smith would be much more difficult to replace. Re-signing Smith allows the Titans' offense to continue playing at a high level.

Smith began the season at a hot start, but his involvement in the passing game declined once Taylor Lewan fell to injury. The coaching staff schemed Smith to help block more, rather than run routes. He had to help second and third-string lineman protect Ryan Tannehill and open up lanes for Derrick Henry.

Even so, Smith finished with an impressive 448 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, both of which are career highs. He's also a mismatch at the tight end position and has the ability to run the ball like a receiver. He's a gadget player the coaching staff can put anywhere, which is why the Titans should bring him back to the squad.

Tennessee Titans Bold Prediction: Sign Carl Lawson

As the free agency market approaches, Carl Lawson seems to be considered as the best pass rusher available this offseason. He's been a dominant force the past two years and aims to receive a nice paycheck this offseason. Although it's been reported the Cincinnati Bengals want to keep him, Lawson could be leaving, as plenty of other teams will be interested.

He had his best season in 2020, finishing with 36 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He's exactly the type of player the Titans need in the front-seven. He has the ability to stand up as an outside linebacker or put his hands in the dirt like a defensive end. That versatility is what this franchise was hoping to have with Jadeveon Clowney.

Considering the Titans pass rush has been so bad the past few years, Lawson gives Tennessee the immediate production they need to improve. Look for the Titans to potentially sign multiple pass rushers during free agency. Ryan Kerrigan would be a great veteran to sign alongside Carl Lawson.

Tennessee Titans Bold Prediction: Draft Jaycee Horn

With the 22nd pick in the NFL draft this year, Tennessee is likely to draft the top available player on defense. Hopefully, Jaycee Horn finds his way to Tennessee, as he's a talented cornerback who could make an impact in the Titans' secondary. During his collegiate career in South Carolina, Horn racked up 101 total tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions.

During his tenure in South Carolina, Horn proved to be a firey defender in the secondary. He plays aggressively and seems to have a similar approach to the game as Jalen Ramsey. Not saying he's as good as Ramsey, but Horn's mentality is rather similar to the Los Angeles Rams' superstar corner.

After the release of Malcolm Butler, Jaycee Horn would be a perfect replacement. The roster already has Adoree' Jackson, and Kristian Fulton, who both aim to get back on track after dealing with injuries. Adding Horn into that mix gives Tennessee a young, aggressive, and speedy cornerback group that can keep up with some of the best receiver groups in the league.

Tennessee Titans Bold Prediction: Draft Patrick Jones II

This draft class is loaded with pass rushers, which gives the Titans the leisure of selecting a top corner, then turning around and drafting a solid prospect for the front-seven. Patrick Jones II is an athletic freak. During his senior year at Pitt, Jones finished with 42 total tackles and nine sacks. His numbers prove how dominant he can be when chasing the quarterback, which is exactly what the Titans need.

Since taking over as the general manager, John Robinson has proven to select rookies with a proven track record in college. Jones has three years of solid playing time under his belt in college, in which, he produced all three years. Jones fits the bill for the Titans and would be an excellent prospect for the Titans to input into their rotation.
