With last night's devastating victory at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens were officially eliminated from playoff contention. The career of legendary linebacker Terrell Suggs was also possibly at its conclusion.

Not so fast.

When asked if he's thought about retirement following Baltimore's Christmas day defeat, Suggs seemed insulted before delivering a defiant response.

From Jamison Hensley of ESPN:

“I don't know what you heard — what the [f—] is wrong with him?– I was always planning to come back and doing this another year,” Suggs said.

Just Suggs being Suggs.

The veteran took over as the leader of Baltimore's defense when Ray Lewis retired, and he's carried that mantle quite well. Through various injuries, he's endured to continue Baltimore's tradition of defensive prowess.

Suggs successfully came back from a torn Achilles this year, boasting a team-leading eight sacks. He's accomplished that feat while playing with a torn left bicep since October 16th.

The six-time Pro Bowler is signed through 2018 and is set to make $4 million next year. Whether he plays out his entire contract is yet to be seen, but he'll at least complete half of it.

At 34 years old, Suggs' career is winding down, but he still has plenty to offer to the game of football and his Ravens teammates.
