There's no denying that the Deshaun Watson scandal has pretty much shaken up the Houston Texans franchise to its core. Nevertheless, there's an opportunity for a bit of a fresh start for the team with the new season fast approaching.

First-year Texans head coach David Culley had a special message for Houston's potential newcomers from the upcoming draft as the team looks forward to a clean slate for the 2021 campaign. According to Culley, any player out of the draft would be lucky to be part of the Texans organization:

“We’ve got a wonderful opportunity for you here,” Culley told ABC 13 [KTRK-TV], via Mark Lane of USA TODAY SPORTS. “We’re building something special here. It’s a wonderful organization with wonderful people.”

It's a dream come true for any college player to have his name called in the draft — regardless of which team they actually land with. Some of the bigger names might have certain preferences, but at the end of the day, being drafted into the NFL in itself is already a tremendous achievement.

The Texans aren't exactly in the best of positions right now, and you can say this with matters both on and off the field. Nevertheless, they have a myriad of picks in the upcoming draft, and odds are, they should be able to add a couple of guys that could help turn things around for this squad.

For his part, Culley himself has already indicated how much he loves his new job with the Texans, so at least that's one thing Houston has going for them right now.
