Head coach Bill O’Brien has no issue with the way the 2020 NFL schedule is treating the Houston Texans. The AFC South champions will have eight straight early Sunday kickoffs, staring with the Baltimore Ravens at 3:25 p.m. CT in Week 3, then seven more until week 11.

“I think it is good,” O’Brien told USA Today. “I think that we’re able to play, right now, two nationally televised games that we already spoke about, Kansas City the first game of the year and then Detroit on Thanksgiving. I think to be able to have most of our games at noon, it does give us an opportunity to get into a real routine, which is really important.”

O'Brien is looking at the bright side of things here, allowing his team to build that momentum before going into the final stretch of the season.

“I think our players enjoy that,” said the Texans head coach. “We enjoy the noon games, especially at home in front of our fans. It allows us to get into a little bit of a normal routine during the season which hopefully will help us.”

The Texans will have four home games out of those eight early Sunday kickoffs. Though most importantly, they will close the season with two home games: Week 16 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals and Week 17 vs. the Tennessee Titans.

Houston has won the AFC South in three out of the last four years, but they will need to leave their stamp in the postseason if they are to make something out of it. They were 10-6 last season, their best finish since 2012.
