Aside from addressing the risks involved with playing the 2020 NFL season during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, players are also adamant about using their platforms to speak out about social injustice. Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien is doing what he can to ensure that the team has his full support.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, O'Brien confirmed once again that he stands with his players and the Black Lives Matter movement:

“I stand with our Black players. Black Lives Matters. I stand with our players.”

The Texans head coach has taken plenty of criticism for some of his questionable decisions as both a head coach and general manager, especially over the last year. However, his stance on racial injustice has earned him plenty of respect from players that have spoken out on the social unease that plagues the country.

It has been deemed a foregone conclusion that players intend to keep their protests going during the national anthem now more than ever leading up to the 2020 campaign. O'Brien has made it clear that he fully intends to take a knee alongside his players when the time comes.

Although the restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have offered up its own set of challenges for teams, addressing racial injustice still remains a point of emphasis for players this offseason and it is important that the efforts being made are not one-sided. O'Brien's commitment to seeing the protests through go a long way in maintaining a positive locker room culture.
