The Houston Texans have struggled so far to slow down Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in their Week 7 game, and they might have to continue to do so without their number one cornerback.

The Texans say that Bradley Roby suffered a knee injury in the first quarter against the Packers and will not return to the game.

The 28-year old Roby suffered the injury in the first quarter during Green Bay’s opening drive, leaving Houston vulnerable at the position for the rest of the game. Robby was replaced by Philip Gaines in the Texans' lineup. Gaines, however, could not keep up with the Packers’ receivers, with Rodgers finding wide receiver Davante Adams for a 3-yard touchdown in the first quarter to give the Packers an early 7-0 lead and set the tone for the rout.

With Roby sidelined with the injury, the Texans will only have Gaines and Vernon Hargreaves as their outside corners. Roby, who was drafted with the 31st overall pick out of Ohio State by Denver in the 2014 Draft, spent the first five seasons of his career with the Broncos before signing a one year, $10 million deal with Houston in the offseason. In six games, he has recorded one interception, one tackle for loss, five passes deflected, and 26 solo tackles.

The Texans hope that Gaines and Hargreaves can hold down the fort in his absence, or that Roby does not miss a significant amount of time as their defense continues to struggle against Rodgers and the Packers.
