Although the Houston Texans have officially suffered their first losing season under head coach Bill O'Brien, the team is still looking to finish out strong. Which is why they are hoping for the return of wide receiver Braxton Miller.

Miller suffered a concussion during a hit he sustained while returning a punt versus the Tennessee Titans and his status for next week is still questionable. According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, O'Brien has had high praise for Miller's improvement throughout the 2017 NFL season:

“He’s getting better and better,” O’Brien said. “We just said that in our staff meeting. One of our more improved players. It’s just too bad. He took a hit on the sideline on what was a very good punt return by him up the sideline there, getting us some extra yards. Thought he did a good job in that area, fielding punts.”

Aside from his recent contributions on special teams, O'Brien is pleased with his progression as a wide receiver.

“And then he’s gotten better and better as a receiver. He’s made some big plays for us on tough routes, tough catches, yards after catch. It’s been really good to see his improvement. He was inactive for a few games this year and he really kind of took it to heart and really worked hard to get better on the practice field, so hopefully he’s not out for too long.”

Miller has had a tough time breaking through as a pass-catcher after spending a decorated college career as quarterback for Ohio State. However, the former Buckeye has enjoyed a recent surge at wideout over the last few weeks.

Prior to his concussion, Miller has having a stellar day against the Titans, registering four catches for a career-high 71 yards. Needless to say, he has managed to capitalize on his opportunities over the past three weeks with wide receiver Will Fuller out.  During that time, Miller has recorded 11 receptions for 128 yards, which is all the more reason why he is looking to keep it going next week against the San Francisco 49ers.
