The Houston Texans came up short in their 2018 NFL season opener versus the New England Patriots. Unfortunately, it may not be the worst loss they suffered on Sunday. Cornerback Kevin Johnson was forced out of the game during the fourth quarter after suffering a concussion.

According to NFL Network insider, he could miss the next four-to-six weeks:

How concerning is the concussion for Texans CB Kevin Johnson? Sources say Johnson is expected to be out at least 4 weeks, potentially 6 weeks. That makes him a candidate for Injured Reserve with the potential to return.

Johnson's timetable may seem a bit extensive given the injury; however, this is the second concussion he has suffered in the last month. The last one came in Week 2 of the preseason versus the San Francisco 49ers.

Unfortunately, this is just the latest example of Johnson's lingering health issues. Prior to Week 1, Johnson has played in just 18 games over the past two seasons.

This is a devastating blow to Houston's secondary. This unit was already noticeably thin going into the 2018 campaign. There was hope that Johnson could help bring some stability to this group, but it appears the former first-rounder is expected to miss a good chunk of the season. Questions about his durability remain moving forward.

Johnson was not the only key loss Houston suffered on Sunday. Right tackle Seantrel Henderson was also forced to leave early with an ankle injury.

The Texans have some major re-tooling to do ahead of their Week 2 matchup versus the division rival Tennessee Titans.
