The blockbuster trade in which the Houston Texans sent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals can now become finalized without any hangups.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, running back David Johnson, who was dealt to the Texans in the trade, has passed his physical. This comes after Hopkins passed his own physical earlier in the week.

The Cardinals also sent a second-round draft pick to Houston in the package. In addition, the two teams swapped fourth-rounders in what was one of the more puzzling trades to take place in quite some time.

Hopkins spent the first seven years of his career with the Texans, making four Pro Bowl appearances while earning three First-Team All-Pro selections.

Still just 27 years old, Hopkins is one of the best wideouts in football and is coming off of a 2019 campaign in which he hauled in 104 receptions for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns.

However, Hopkins wanted a raise and a new contract, which Houston was apparently not willing to give him. There were also reports that Hopkins and Texans head coach/general manager Bill O'Brien did not see eye to eye.

Meanwhile, Johnson played in 13 games this past year and logged just 345 yards and a pair of scores while averaging a meager 3.7 yards per carry. He also caught 36 passes for 370 yards while reaching the end zone four times.

There was a time when Johnson was one of the best halfbacks in football, namely back in 2016 when he earned a trip to the Pro Bowl and notched First-Team All-Pro honors after racking up 1,239 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground. Plus, he snared 80 balls for 879 yards and four scores.

Since then, however, injuries and poor performance in general have derailed Johnson's career.
