Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills isn't letting disappointment from perhaps the most disastrous game of his football career linger against the New England Patriots.

One week after throwing a whopping four interceptions, the rookie signal-caller helped give his team an early lead on Sunday with a laser throw to wide receiver Chris Moore, who did the rest of the work by high-pointing the ball amid multiple defenders then winning a footrace to the end zone.

Great throw, great catch, great run.

Mills, 22, wasn't expected to start as a rookie when Houston nabbed him in the third round of this year's draft. The controversy surrounding Deshaun Watson and a hamstring injury to veteran Tyrod Taylor, though, has forced the Stanford product into full-time action, with mostly predictable results. Entering Sunday's game, Houston had scored just 30 total points over his three starts, as Mills struggled to a 56.7 percent completion percentage and paltry 5.3 yards per pass attempt.

What would go a long way toward Mills improving? Support from Texans' playmakers like Moore gave him here. The journeyman wideout entered Sunday's game without a catch for Houston, playing mostly on special teams. Needless to say, expect Moore to see a lot more time on offense if he proves similarly capable of making Mills' life easier going forward.
