Former Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins took to twitter Thursday to heap praise on former teammate Will Fuller, following the wideout's outstanding performance against the Lions.

Originally drafted in the first-round of the 2016 NFL Draft by Houston, Fuller was meant to provide depth in the Texans' receiving corps, taking pressure off Hopkins who had begun to see opposing defenses load up on him. Following Houston's controversial decision to unload Hopkins this past offseason however, Fuller was moved to the top of the depth chart. Though the team has struggled through a disappointing season thus far–firing former head coach Bill O'Brien in early October–the wideout has risen above expectations, accruing 708  receiving yards and 8 touchdowns through the team's first 10 games coming into the Thanksgiving match.

Against a Lions' secondary that has been lackluster all season, Fuller torched the beleaguered Detroit club with a 171-yard, two touchdown performance, that was capped by a tremendous flea-flicker play that broke for a 40-yard breakaway score. In putting up the video game like stats, Fuller became only the fifth player since the league's merger in 1970, to manage at least 150-receiving yards, and two touchdown receptions, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Following their 2-7 start, the Texans have now won consecutive games for the first time all season, as they prepare to host the Indianapolis Colts on December 6. While the team remains unlikely to qualify for the postseason, in spite of their recently improved play, the organization can at least rest easy knowing they once again have an elite receiver to rely on. They need only listen to their last elite wideout, for that confirmation.
