An older a player gets the harder it is to come back from Achilles injury and that is what Houston Texans wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is facing. He is 31 years old and some players might think about retirement after such an injury but Thomas has other plans. Thomas has a $14 million non-guaranteed contract going into next year and if he wants to return that contract will have to be renegotiated but his hope his to return to the Texans.

“I don't know, it's up in the air,” Thomas said. “I had a tough injury. I am 31 now. A couple of guys are coming back like Will and Keke.

“My main priority right now is getting back healthy. I can still play, man. I'm not thinking about retirement. I just don't know where it will be.”

Thomas caught 23 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns in the time he spent with the Texans after being traded over from the Denver Broncos.

“I told them I would love to finish my career here, but we'll see,” Thomas said. “This is what we have to deal with as players and guys in the locker room.

“I hope my appearance and being around the guys and talking to a couple of guys helped. I don't want to say I helped that much play-wise, but leadership-wise, I think I helped.”

The Texans haven't really said if they want Thomas back but if they don't bring him back, chances are good that he will get a job with someone next year as long as he has a full recovery from the injury.
