The Houston Texans have a special player in quarterback Deshaun Watson. However, it remains to be seen just how special. The Texans have had trouble advancing come postseason time while Houston also traded away Watson's top target in veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who is now officially a member of the Arizona Cardinals.

Nonetheless, at least one NFL analyst believes that Watson is comparable to legendary quarterback Warren Moon, who also played some professional football in Houston once upon a time.

“It was like poetry in motion when he threw the deep ball,” Chris Simms of NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk said earlier this month. “It was always an absolute, perfect spiral. I don’t know if I ever saw ball that Warren [Moon] ever threw have any wobble to it whatsoever.”

Simms wasn't done praising Watson just yet, though, as the former NFL quarterback seems to believe that Watson is the league's best deep passer at the moment.

“Deshaun Watson’s the guy right now that would be the Chris Simms title holder for ‘good’ in the deep ball department,” Simms added. “When I watch him, a little like Warren Moon who I talked about, just so effortless, can do it anyway you want, can throw it high and far at 70 yards, can throw it line drive and hit it bullseye 50 yards down field. Doesn’t need to be in perfect position. And then, to me, a great deep ball is that pretty spiral.”

Unfortunately for Watson and the Hopkins-less Texans, the AFC South division isn't getting any easier to play in these days as both the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts could be a handful in 2020-21.
