Deshaun Watson has been executing at a high level lately for the Houston Texans. The continuation of his excellence is a must against a tough opponent this weekend in the Kansas City Chiefs. Fortunately for him, he's gotten the approval of one of the finest quarterbacks to ever don a Houston jersey.

Hall of Fame quarterback and former Oilers star Warren Moon gave Watson his vote of confidence, saying that he has everything that it takes for a Hall of Fame career. Watson is aware of the praise that the legendary quarterback gave him, and he's flattered that an icon like Moon considers him as one who could have a career worthy of the golden jacket.

Per Texans Wire's Mark Lane:

“It’s definitely a great honor and recognition from a guy that’s done a lot for this league and a guy that’s done a lot for this community,” Watson told reporters Wednesday. “Just being able to be recognized for that and — it’s definitely a long ways away.”

Watson has had a solid third season with the Texans this year. While his numbers dipped a bit compared to his incredible sophomore season, his overall production is still respectable. He finished with 3,852 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, 413 rushing yards, and seven rushing touchdowns. He also did a fine job in leading the team against the Buffalo Bills, finishing with 247 yards and one touchdown.

It will be a tough challenge for Deshaun Watson to try and keep up with Patrick Mahomes, but he needs to pull out all the stops if he wants to reach the AFC Championship. This game will surely become an epic quarterback duel between two of the league's top young quarterbacks.
