Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is now in a class of his own after hitting 5,000 passing yards for his career in Saturday's game against the New York Jets.

Watson's play this season has helped the Texans rack up a 9-4 record to this point, with their nine-game winning streak being snapped last week in a home loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

But the great overall record this year has been in large part due to the incredible abilities of Watson, who entered the game with 3,298 passing yards and 22 touchdowns through the air while also rushing for 410 yards and two scores.

However, he took things a step further during the Jets game when he eclipsed 5,000 career yards in the passing game.

In doing so, Watson became the first quarterback in league history to throw for 5,000 or more yards and 40 touchdowns and rush for 700 or more yards in his first 21 games, according to the Texans PR department.

This accomplishment adds to an already stellar start to Watson's career, as the former Heisman Trophy winner has rebounded nicely after tearing his ACL last season.

With the offense playing at a high level, the Texans are now in a position to not only win the AFC South but also be a legitimate threat heading into the playoffs.

It's difficult to prepare for a dual-threat quarterback like Watson, and his skills are already paying off in a big way in his first few seasons in Houston.

After the matchup against the Jets, Watson and company will hit the road again for a showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.
