Deshaun Watson created some controversy on Friday when he tweeted that the Chicago Bears didn't speak to him before the 2017 NFL Draft. While he was selected by the Houston Texans, it's probable that Watson did talk to the Bears ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Of course, the 2017 NFL Draft is known for the three quarterbacks taken early in the first round. Besides Deshaun Watson, Mitch Trubisky and Patrick Mahomes were also drafted in the first round, linking all three of them until the end of time.

Without a doubt, Chicago made a mistake in trading up to the No. 2 pick to select Trubisky instead of Watson or Mahomes. But to say they didn't speak to Deshaun Watson appears to be false despite what Watson revealed on Friday.

Back before the 2017 NFL Draft, Watson made an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show to speak about the upcoming draft. In his conversation, Deshaun Watson shared that he had spoken to the Bears — among other teams.

In addition, The Chicago Tribune reported that the Bears met with Deshaun Watson at the NFL Scouting Combine and at Clemson's Pro Day.

As a matter of fact, Chicago was one of four teams that sent their head coach and GM to Clemson's Pro Day to watch Deshaun Watson.

With that in mind, maybe Deshaun Watson forgot about meeting with the Bears or he just chose to lie on purpose due to the ongoing discussion about the 2017 NFL Draft. Regardless of what actually happened, that still doesn't make fans in Chicago feel any better about the mistake their organization made by taking Trubisky instead of Watson or Mahomes.
