Deshaun Watson may be riding along with a new-look Houston Texans team in 2020, but the circumstances don't change his commitment to the organization. The former Clemson Tiger insists that he is focused on his Super Bowl goal and is in it for the long run.

The Houston Press shared some excerpts from a recent press conference with the Texans playmaker:

QUESTION for WATSON: What do you need to see from the Texans organization to want to commit to a long-term contract extension?
WATSON: “I’m here. I love this organization. I love the McNair family. I love the coaching staff. I love the coaches. I love the players. I love the city. I love the fanbase. Right now, my main focus is continuing to be a Houston Texan and making sure that I’m bringing everything I can and doing everything I can to bring this city and this organization its first championship. So, that’s my main focus. Right now, I’m a Houston Texan and the future is going to tell itself but I’m locked in on being a Texan.”

Watson has spent the entirety of his young career with the Texans thus far. The team selected him with the 12th pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. After taking over the role of former Texans quarterback Tom Savage in his rookie season, he has established himself as the franchise's primary gunslinger since then.

Last season, he recorded 3,852 passing yards on 495 attempts to go with 26 scored touchdowns. Despite star defensive end JJ Watt being injured for the majority of last season, Watson still successfully led the Texans to the AFC South divisional crown with a 10-6 record.

In the playoffs, the Texans were able to overcome a tough Buffalo Bills squad, 22-19. However, the Houston-based team was stopped in its tracks by the eventual Super Bowl LIV champion Kansas City Chiefs, 51-31, officially ending their 2019 campaign.

With the team's best receiver in DeAndre Hopkins now out of the picture for the Texans, the goal of reaching the Super Bowl became harder than ever. Nonetheless, Deshaun Watson still sees himself overcoming the odds and remaining fixated on his goal of lifting a Lombardi for the organization.
