The Houston Texans have some looming contract extensions they will need to take care of in the near future. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has seemingly made it clear that he is looking to get paid.

According to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com, Watson and left tackle Laremy Tunsil reportedly do not plan on providing Houston with a discount on their new deals.

Per Texans sources, Deshaun Watson and Larmey Tunsil won't be giving hometown discounts on contract extensions as they seek market value. Watson is aware Bill O'Brien didn't want to draft him

The report indicates that while Watson has fully embraced everything that comes with the Texans franchise, he still has not forgotten about all that transpired during the draft process. Although there has been no instances of bad blood between him and head coach Bill O'Brien, he still plans on setting a high price tag for any team that wants to land his services.

There is no question that Watson deserved to be paid like an elite quarterback. Time and time again he has proven to boast all of the qualities teams look for in a franchise quarterback. Not only is he capable of making big plays, but his leadership has helped turn Houston into a bonafide playoff contender.

Meanwhile, the Texans made quite the investment when they traded for Tunsil in an effort to shore up the protection for Watson up front. They will need to start preparing to dig deep in their pockets if they hope to keep it going for the long haul.
