After Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney had a knee scope before the Pro Bowl that forced him to miss the game it was supposed to a pretty normal recovery. Clowney has since hit a couple of bumps on the road and now will miss the rest of the team's offseason workout program.

However, his defensive line coach Anthony Weaver thinks the star defensive end will be 100 percent by training camp.

“He feels really good,” Weaver said via ESPN. “In talking to him this morning, he feels great. He's building his strength back. His plan is obviously [to] be out there at training camp at full strength.

“He's recently — and I'm talking about the past few weeks — it's the best he's felt. He's very confident.”

Clowney has dealt with knee injuries his entire career and that has caused him to play in only 17 0f his first 32 NFL games.

Last year was the first year that Clowney played in every game, and it led to him having the best statistical year of his career. With JJ Watt also expected back this year, and if Clowney can stay healthy his numbers should be able to climb even more because they won't be able to put double teams on him as much.

“I think the ceiling's still pretty high [for Clowney],” Weaver said. “He's a guy that has limitless talent. And when it all comes together — and I still think we're building toward that — it can be truly, truly special. And we've already seen how amazing it's been, but … it could be pretty scary.”

Clowney is entering the last year of his rookie deal, but both Clowney and the team are confident that they can get a long-term deal done.
