The Houston Texans have high expectations going into the 2019 NFL season. It appears the same can be said for running back D'Onta Foreman.

Foreman has struggled to etch out a role for himself due to an Achilles injury he suffered back in 2107. According toAaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, he is looking to break out in the 2019 NFL season:

D'Onta Foreman said he feels better now than he has entering any season at University of Texas and possibly even in high school at Texas City. Said he is ‘starting all over with a chip on my shoulder. Coming with something to prove to everybody.'

It is encouraging to see that Foreman is not looking to be held back by injury any longer. He had shown plenty of promise as rookie and was on his way to a stellar 2017 campaign after rushing for 327 yards and two touchdowns on 78 carries. Unfortunately, he tore his Achilles late in the season and was ultimately placed on the physically unable to perform list to start the 2018 NFL season. Although he was able to make his return late in the year, it was hardly enough time to make his presence felt.

Fortunately, Foreman will have an opportunity to etch out an integral role as the complementary option to running back Lamar Miller. The departure of longtime backup running back Alfred Blue has essentially opened the door for him to take over his touches moving forward. Considering Miller's ineffectiveness at times, it will be interesting to see if the 23-year-old can start to lighten his workload.
