The Houston Texans are reportedly going with a different method next campaign. According to NFL Network's James Palmer, the front office will look into hiring a separate head coach and general manager in the offseason.

It seems that the Texans have learned their lesson after trusting a one-man system tasked with being both a head coach and GM in Bill O'Brien. The 50-year-old tactician was fired on Monday after failing to turn around the season following an unforgiving 0-4 start.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has been rumored as a potential head coach candidate for the Texans next season. His connection to quarterback Deshaun Watson could possibly lure the coach away from his college days to the pros.

The Texans aren't throwing in the towel for the season, however, especially after getting O'Brien out of the way. They can start anew against a Jacksonville Jaguars squad that hasn't seen much success this season as well.

Watson may get a chance to return the squad to the once-formidable opponent they were. Despite their pitiful start, the Clemson University product spoke highly of his former head coach.

“I have the utmost respect for coach O’Brien for getting me to Houston, teaching me what he taught me the four years I’ve been here,” Watson said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “He did a lot of amazing things.”

Defensive star JJ Watt took a different approach with O'Brien, as it was reported that he and the ex-coach had recently gotten into an argument before the dismissal.
