The Houston Texans saw their hopes for another playoff run come to an end last year with some of the team's best players on both sides of the football go down with season-ending injuries. Along with promising young quarterback Deshaun Watson suffering a knee injury that ended his rookie campaign, J.J. Watt, arguably the face of the franchise, also suffered a severe leg injury that required surgery.

Watt's suffered a season-ending injury for the second straight year last season and now is well on his way to a full recovery. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year recently talked about his rehab, via HoustonTexans.com.

“I feel great,” Watt said. “I feel very good. I mean, I’m not going to put any percentages on it or anything.”

Watt went down in the first quarter of the contest versus the Chiefs at NRG Stadium last autumn. He's been on the comeback trail since.

“Like I said earlier in the offseason, I could tell you I’m feeling unbelievable (or) I could tell you I’m feeling super (bad) – you won’t know until I hit the field,” Watt said. “Just show up to training camp, watch how I play and then you can decide for yourself how I look.”

With a healthy Watt and Watson back in the fold to start next season, the Texans could have a great chance of not only bouncing back with a playoff berth but possibly contending for a Super Bowl title. The defense has never been much of a problem with Watt and Jadeveon Clowney leading the way, but the offense has been an issue without solid quarterback play over the years under head coach Bill O'Brien.

The emergence of Watson as a legitimate star in the making has given Houston hope for being a threat on both sides of the football from here on out. If this team can stay healthy, and Watson and Watt return to form, the Texans may be a force to be reckoned with next season and for the foreseeable future.
