Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt believes that the team is embracing a focused mentality during their nine-game winning streak.

The Texans got off to a 0-3 start this season and were seemingly headed nowhere, but they've shown no signs of slowing down since their 37-34 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts back in Week 4.

And the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year isn't surprised by Houston's ability to take things week by week.

Here's what Watt had to say about the Texans' mentality this season, courtesy of Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle:

“I think that inside this locker room, we have a bunch of guys who go to work every single day, take it one day at a time and are just really focused on the task at hand each day. I think that it’s a great mentality. I think it’s what’s led us to winning nine in a row, and I think that we have a bunch of really good guys who do a lot of good work to get to Sunday and find a way to win.”

“I’ve been through a lot in my career, in different ways, with people telling you how great you are, people telling you how bad you are. I don’t care what people say. Obviously, you have to convey that message to the young guys, and the leadership of this team has done a great job. We have a bunch of guys in the locker room that do a great job of making sure our team knows that it’s one day at a time.
