The Houston Texans' internal strife continues.

Star defensive tackle J.J. Watt threw a subtle shot at the organization after it was reported the Texans parted ways with Vice President of Communications Amy Palcic.

Watt said the response to Palcic's dismissal is evocative of her professionalism. He also noted Palcic was instrumental in helping his fundraising campaign regarding recovery efforts following Hurricane Harvey in 2017:

“Yeah, I think you can tell from universal response from people in the business what type of person Amy is and how well liked she is,” Watt said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “Extremely professional, good at her job. A massive helping hand with me during the hurricane, very difficult loss”

Palcic's firing appears resonant with Watt, who has been with the team since 2011. The move also drew the ire of NFL reporters around the country, many of whom declared Palcic was one of the best in the business.

It goes without saying this has been a trying season for the Texans (2-6) and Watt in particular.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year was involved in multiple practice skirmishes with former head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien, which in part led to O'Brien's firing.

Watt has also faced questions about his future in Houston. The 31-year-old will be a free agent after next year, and there was some speculation the Texans might look to move him at the trade deadline.

While the Texans opted to retain Watt, it is unlikely the franchise is in his good graces after firing Palcic on Wednesday.
