Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney saw nothing wrong with his hit on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles late in the fourth quarter.

With the Eagles trailing by a point late in the game, Clowney delivered a strong hit to Foles' midsection on a crucial play that saw Alshon Jeffery pick up a 19-yard reception.

However, referees threw a flag on Clowney for roughing the passer, which resulted in an extra 15 yards being added on to the end of the play.

That was one of the reasons why the Eagles were able to get down into field goal position with a chance to win it, and Jake Elliott sealed the victory for Philly by hitting the game-winner.

As for Clowney, he wasn't exactly a fan of the call.

Here's what he had to say about the situation, courtesy of Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk:

“I do not think it was a good call,” Clowney said. “Just playing football, trying to make a play. I feel like it was a good, clean hit. … I saw a couple of them today, I was like, ‘Wow, why are you throwing that flag’ but the refs are a part of the game. They make the calls. You just have to stick with it and keep playing football.”

It was the type of play that Philly fans will remember should the Eagles make it back to the playoffs, but for the Texans, it's a play that they'll want to forget.

Still, Houston is already in the postseason, even if the AFC South title is yet to be determined based on the outcome of next week's showdown between the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts.

Clowney and company will clinch the division if they can grab a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
