The Houston Texans are set to head into Week 2 action on the road for their first AFC South divisional action against the Tennessee Titans looking for their first win of the season.

However, it will be without star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney due to an elbow and back injury that had limited during the entire week of practice, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will miss Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, a source confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

In the season opener against the New England Patriots, Clowney recorded a pair of tackles. He is coming off a season where he had played in all 16 games in the regular season for the first time in his first four years in the league. It was also the most productive campaign of his career as he recorded a career-high 9.5 sacks, 59 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries that earned him the second Pro Bowl nod. He has been one of the anchors defensively for the Texans in his first few years in the league when healthy.

This will lean on Former Pro Bowl defensive end J.J. Watt to bring most of the pressure on Marcus Mariota and Blaine Gabbert on Sunday afternoon. Watt played in the season opener recording just a pair of tackles in the loss to the Patriots as he's still working his way back to form as he had missed 11 games last season due to a broken leg. Third-year defensive tackle D.J. Reader posted a pair of sacks in the season opener.

Houston could have the advantage with the Titans dealing with injuries to their offensive line with tackles Jack Conklin (knee) and Taylor Lewan (concussion) both being declared out for Sunday's game that could present some opportunities for the Texans to create plenty of pressure on the quarterback.
