The Houston Texans have made quite a few moves this offseason, and one of those moves was bringing in veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb.

While Cobb (and fellow new addition Brandin Cooks) are both great targets, neither live up to the legend that is DeAndre Hopkins. So when Hopkins was traded away to the Arizona Cardinals, that stung a lot of fans. And adding Cobb and Cooks after the fact did not soften the blow enough.

That being said, there is a lot that they can bring to the table. And according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com, Cobb spoke on how he is helping his new quarterback continue to grow:

““He’s hungry for knowledge, he’s hungry for information and I’m trying to give him all the knowledge I can from the experience that I have with Aaron and with Dak and the things that worked well for us over the course of my career,” Cobb said on SiriusXM NFL Radio.”

For Texans' fans and others who want to hear Cobb's words on SiriusXM NFL Radio, the station tweeted out an audio clip.

Cobb has different experiences in his time with the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.

While with those two teams, his main quarterbacks were Dak Prescott and Aaron Rodgers. Both considered some of the best in the NFL.

Yes, Watson is also in the same boat with the Texans. But that does not mean he can't continue to learn and improve. And Cobb giving him things he's learned from other “elite” quarterbacks certainly is not going to hurt.

So there it is. Cobb has not only that veteran knowledge, but he has the knowledge of someone that's worked in multiple different systems with different quarterbacks. That gives him a lot to off Watson on his quest to grow into the best quarterback in the league.
