The Houston Texans have been absolutely miserable since quarterback Tyrod Taylor went down with a hamstring injury in Week 2. Taylor is returning to practice this week, though, which is a big step for his ultimate return under center.

Taylor was dominant in a Week 1 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and got off to a terrific start in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns before suffering his injury. The Texans wound up losing to the Browns and have lost every game since, dropping to 1-6 on the season after a 31-5 drubbing at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7 action.

Texans rookie Davis Mills has been atrocious in relief of Taylor, who began the season as the starter because of the Deshaun Watson situation. With Watson not playing and seemingly on his way out, Taylor is in line to be the starter again once he's healthy enough to play.

Taylor completed 31 out of 44 passes for 416 yards and three scores in the first two games of the season. He also didn't have an interception. Mills, on the other hand, has completed 64.7% of his passes for 1,047 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions in six games and five starts. Houston has been consistently getting blown out with Mills starting.

The Texans have another brutally tough opponent ahead in the Los Angeles Rams. Perhaps Taylor will actually play and help make Houston more competitive, though it will be a hard game to win regardless of the starting quarterback.
