The Houston Texans are looking to offload quarterback Deshaun Watson this offseason after he sat out the entire 2021 campaign amid the various civil lawsuits he's facing. Watson has been linked to various teams around the league since the start of the regular season, but no trade ever materialized. The Texans have had huge demands in trade talks regarding Watson, and per The Athletic's Jeff Howe, it doesn't seem as if GM Nick Caserio and Co. plan to back down from their asking price.

The Texans have been demanding a king's ransom in exchange for Watson. The haul they're reportedly after includes three first-round picks in addition to two other “assets.” Despite not getting a deal done for Watson during the season, the Texans are reportedly holding firm on their demands, and refusing to offload the controversial quarterback for anything less than their target price.

Watson had been linked with teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Dolphins, though after the firing of Brian Flores it seems the interest has waned. There is reason to believe that Flores and Watson still have mutual interest in working together, however, and Howe indicates that could be a possibility if Flores lands a job with the Chicago Bears or even the Houston Texans, in which case they would no longer be seeking a Watson trade.

Throughout his career in the NFL, Watson has started 53 games, posting a 28-25 record. He's completed 67.8% of his passes for 14,539 passing yards and has thrown 104 touchdowns to just 36 interceptions. He's also been an effective rusher, racking up 17 rushing touchdowns across his first four years in the league.
