The Houston Texans are a hot mess right now. Having a disappointing 2020 campaign so far, while heading into next season with salary cap issues, it seems like their current predicament will be a difficult hole to come out of. Per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the franchise will look to make a major organizational overhaul in 2021 in order to get things right.

According to reports, Executive VP Jack Easterby, currently serving as the interim general manager, has no intentions to hold on to that position heading into next season. Likewise, the Texans don't view interim coach Romeo Crennel as the permanent guy to lead their team on the sidelines past this 2020 campaign.

Houston had high expectations heading into this season, especially after they won a total of 21 games over the past two seasons. However, after starting the season 0-4, which ultimately led to the demise of former coach Bill O'Brien, it became clear that this wasn't going to be the season they had initially hoped.

They still do have star talent with quarterback DeShaun Watson and defensive end JJ Watt. However, as you can see, things just haven't turned out the way the Texans expected, especially after they signed Watson to a four-year, $160-million deal. Certainly, dealing away star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins prior to the start of the season didn't help their cause.

To make matters worse, Houston will not have their first and second round picks in next year's draft. They traded those picks to acquire Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil and receiver Kenny Stills from the Miami Dolphins. Thus, they will not gain any major compensation for their disastrous 2020 season.

Texans fans certainly hope the organization can find a way to climb out of this mess.
