The Houston Texans have become the latest professional sports franchise to call for action in regards to the ongoing racism and social injustice issues found throughout the United States. Specifically calling for action to combat systemic racism, the Texans released a statement on social media that reads, “Change is necessary and it needs to happen now.”

The Texans have now joined many other sports franchises and professional sports leagues in taking a stand against such injustices.

With the 2020 NFL regular season now only a few weeks away, the league has continued to state that it will back its players in regards to protesting while also agreeing to add anti-racism phrases to each end zone at every single stadium throughout the league. Of course, the NFL has been known as the league that has taken the least amount of action in the past while the past appears to truly be the past at this point in 2020.
