As the Golden State Warriors continue to explore roster changes for the 2021-22 season, there are still concerns they are addressing. The issue that seems to bother the front office the most is the uncertainty about Stephen Curry's backup, but maybe that shouldn't be the Dubs' most significant concern.

Perhaps the Warriors should be looking for an extra center. A former All-Star by the name of Demarcus Cousins could be a great fit.

If the team could find another point guard in the free-agent market, it would be a player who can run the offense or knock down open shots. Of course, fans want a solid backup point guard on every team, but is it needed for the Warriors? Without a true point guard last season, they led the NBA in assists with 27.7 per game.

The Warriors could easily use the same recipe as the starting lineup, with Draymond Green doing most of the point guard duties and Curry being an elite scoring threat. Andre Iguodala is a proven passer, and Jordan Poole showed he could score quickly. He averaged 12 points in 19.4 minutes of play last season. They could be the Warriors' second version of Green and Curry off the bench.

The one thing a guard doesn't help the Dubs with is their rebounding struggles. Last season the Warriors were flat-out bad when it came to rebounding. It mainly was because of depth. When Kevon Looney and James Wiseman were out simultaneously, they were forced to play 6-foot-6 Juan Toscano-Anderson at the center. They were dead last in offensive rebounding and 22nd in total rebounds.

Cousins would give immediate aid to the rebounding issue. He also adds needed depth at the center spot. Last season Cousins played with the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged 13.3 rebounds per 36 minutes. Kevon Looney averaged 10.0 while James Wiseman was at 9.7 rebounds. Cousins is also a gifted passer who can stretch the floor. He spent a season with the Warriors in the 2018-19 season, so he already knows the system and other players.

Although Cousins isn't a star in the NBA anymore, he can still do many things well. Those are things the Warriors could use if they want to become NBA champions. That's why they should bring Demarcus Cousins back.
