Last season the Brooklyn Nets were the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a sub-.500 record. Going into this next season, they're going to be title contenders and need to make win-now moves.

On the daily Locked On Nets Podcast, hosts Doug Norrie and Adam Armbrecht discussed a potential deal that would send Caris LeVert to New Orleans and Jrue Holiday to Brooklyn.

Doug Norrie: The Nets need to add perimeter defense and holiday does solve that and his age timeline is on the same sort of timeline of where we are with Kyrie and KD at this point. So you're mortgaging something but not really because the mortgage you're taking out is for a championship and that's really what you need to do.

I probably do this deal, I don't think it hurts the Nets too much. Holiday is not nearly the scorer that LeVert is, he is a ball handler though he can be a secondary ball-handler. Remember he started as a point guard he really hasn't played that much except really in New Orleans and he's really not fit for it. It's not perfect, but he's not a zero when it comes to ball handling he can take over for stints at point guard if you need them to, [the Nets] really wouldn't need him to as long as they had Dinwiddie.

I don't think you're giving up that much… People think LeVert's young, he's really not, he's the same age as Bradley Beal. This is not a spring chicken two years into the league here. Well, he is, but he played four years in college and that's what kind of throws your idea of like how old he is off. So I think in general, I probably do this deal. Whether it's actually available is unclear, but I think this is probably in line of like a deal that both sides say to themselves, we pretty much got what we wanted.
