Every collector longs for that one massive pull that's going to be worth a lot of money. For baseball card enthusiasts, among the insane bangers one could have is Wander Franco's One of One Superfractor Prospect Autographs from Topps 2019 Bowman Chrome set. But while the card of the Tampa Bay Ray's star itself is an awesome story alone in itself, the way it made it to the market and its current owner is even better.

Find Your Trove recently shared an image of Wander Franco holding his Bowman Chrome rookie auto encased in a BGS 9.5 slab on Instagram. At this point in time, Franco is one of the best players in the MLB, only to be eclipsed by the likes of Shohei Ohtani and Bryce Harper, to name a few. Also, the Rays' shortstop is also among the hottest names in the baseball card market.  The thing is, Franco's insane rookie auto could have gone on to a different owner and this story wouldn't happen in the first place.

Beef Capital Cards then placed a comment on Find Your Trove's IG post saying that the card's origin story was found on his page. True enough, an individual holding the said Wander Franco card was shown along with an anecdote. The one who posted the caption said that he had the opportunity to get the last box of Bowman Chrome from an LCS in Texas. But as fate would have it, he hesitated, an act that allowed his friend to purchase the said box a few days after.

From there, the card would find its way to Bolilio Lajan San, one of the more prominent collectors in the hobby. Furthermore, the card would also be graded by PSA with a gem-mint 10 on its slab. With Franco becoming better, it's no surprise anymore that this One of One rookie auto encased in a PSA 10 slab is considered as the baseball star's best card on the market.

Wander Franco, Rays

With the baseball card market about to rise because of the upcoming MLB season, there's a big potential for Wander Franco's stock to shoot through the roof. If it does, expect this monster One of One rookie auto to get another boost up. In any case, this anecdote will be such a bittersweet reminder of that one card that got away for all collectors, especially to that guy who almost pulled it years ago.
