In Episode 6 of “The Last Dance,” Michael Jordan admitted that he was upset after losing the 1993 Most Valuable Player award to Charles Barkley.

Jordan's Chicago Bulls and Barkley's Phoenix Suns faced in the 1993 NBA Finals. Ahead of their matchup, Barkley was crowned league MVP — which Jordan took personally.

“I was a little bit upset that I didn't get the MVP that year and they gave it to Charles Barkley. But with that said, OK fine you can have that, Imma get this,” Jordan said in the latest episode of “The Last Dance.”

Jordan, of course, was referring to the title which they won in six games. This marked their first three-peat. During that time, it was the first three-peat since the Boston Celtics of the 1960s.

“The Last Dance” is certainly keeping antsy basketball fans entertained amid the lack of basketball action. For those who grew up in the 90s, it has been a treat reliving good memories with one of the greatest, if not the greatest basketball team in history.

The same is true for Jordan fans. Back then, His Airness was some sort of mystic basketball god. Everyone saw the scoring outbursts, acrobatic dunks, highlights, and championships, but people rarely saw what Jordan was like off the court.

Fortunately, the sports documentary has revealed a Jordan that's very open and generous to share his headspace during those intense matchups with teams and players.

Moreover, “The Last Dance” shows just how extremely competitive Michael Jordan is. He took things personally. He had an immense desire to win at literally everything. And if he didn't get what he wanted, he used that frustration as fuel.
