The Brooklyn Nets haven't been able to catch a break this season. Injuries have been the unfortunate storyline, despite finishing as the No. 2 seed in the East. The Big 3 have all dealt with their health issues, having played just eight games together in 2020-21 prior to the postseason. Now, these latest injuries to James Harden and Kyrie Irving could be the end of the Nets' title aspirations.

We all know just how electrifying this offense is with all three of their superstars healthy. Even with just KD and Kyrie in the first couple of games in this Bucks series, the Nets were absolutely thriving. However, it's not fair to expect Durant to carry them past Milwaukee by himself.

We don't know how long Irving is out at this point. A sprained ankle doesn't heal overnight, though, and Steve Nash didn't sound too hopeful in his postgame interview on Sunday. As for Harden, there's still no sign of him returning anytime soon from another hamstring problem.

The Nets were held to under 100 points in Games 3 and 4. This is a team that averaged nearly 120 points per night during the regular season. Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo are dominating for the Bucks in the last two contests and with essentially Durant trying to provide all the offensive firepower on his own, Brooklyn doesn't have much hope here.

Sure, an argument can be made for the supporting cast stepping up and helping the Nets stay in this series. After all, it's 2-2. But things are looking dire. Durant and Irving were the only players in double digits in Game 4, with every single other Net falling short. Game 3? Same thing.

The Bucks had their problems defending Durant and Irving. KD is still going to go off, but they really don't have that complementary scorer without the missing two from their Big 3. Having just Irving too would be acceptable. But, unfortunately, you can't rush a guy back from an ankle sprain. It heals when it heals. By the time it does, it could be too late.

It's a sad turn of events for the Brooklyn Nets, but their title aspirations are slowly dwindling down the drain. While it would be foolish to completely count them out, it's not looking good right now.
