Mock Drafts are starting to be a staple on sports websites, with player comparisons beginning to be thrown out left and right. There will be few player comparisons that garner more praise than those for Florida tight end Kyle Pitts. You don't throw out names like Rob Gronkowski or Randy Moss lightly, after all.

Pitts has been one of the most potent weapons in college football for the Gators this year, and he was selected 10th overall by the Carolina Panthers in Matt Williamson’s first mock draft for the 2021 NFL Draft, joining a Matt Rhule-led offense which is off to a solid start in year one in Charlotte.

One of the few weaknesses on that side of the ball for Carolina has been tight end, with Ian Thomas receiving most of the snaps.

On Williamson and Peacock, the daily NFL podcast on the Locked On Podcast Network hosted by Williamson and Brian Peacock, they broke down his first most draft of the season, and when they approached the Panthers’ selection at 10, Williamson shared one of the most impressive player comparisons that the hosts have ever heard.

Williamson: Obviously, this is a massive exaggeration. I love it when people ask, ‘Who does this kid remind you of? Oh, Jim Brown, Reggie White.' For Kyle Pitts, the comparison that I heard with him was if Randy Moss and Rob Gronkowski had a kid, it would be Kyle Pitts, and this gives you an idea stylistically of how this kid likes to play. He is long, lean, fast. He’s tearing up the competition right now. He is a touchdown machine that can stretch the field. I mean, you match him with McCaffrey, Moore, the other weapons in Carolina, I think you can really mask Teddy and live with what you have then.
