With the NBA offseason quickly approaching, teams around the league are generating plans to improve their rosters. Superstars are a dime in a dozen, and Damian Lillard could be available soon. There has been no word from the Portland Trail Blazers saying Lillard is available, but the rumor mill is buzzing regardless. One team that could be looking to make a move is the Sacramento Kings.

They've had a string of bad luck and trading for a superstar could be what fixes their woes. De'Aaron Fox is a great point guard, but the front office hasn't built an exciting roster around him. It might be smart to look for a superstar-caliber player now and shoot their shot in the coming offseason.

The Kings have a handful of trade-worthy players on their roster. In fact, they were rumored to be a trade partner for several teams before the trade deadline. Many had their eye on Marvin Bagley III and Harrison Barnes, but Sacramento held firm. Now that we're in the offseason, everything could change as they look to improve the roster.

It'll take quite a bit to obtain Damian Lillard though, as the Portland Trail Blazers will not let him go for cheap. It's more likely CJ McCollum gets traded, but if a team makes the right offer, it'll be difficult for the Blazers to refuse. With that said, here is the perfect trade the Kings must offer the Blazers for Damian Lillard.

Trade De'Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, and 2 future first-round picks for Damian Lillard

Blazer fans don't want Lillard to leave, but a trade like this might be too good for the front office to pass up. De'Aaron Fox is a rising star and could prosper into a superstar with the right team around him. In this scenario, he'd have guys like McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic to lean on, which is something Fox doesn't have with the Kings. Barnes joining the team gives Portland a nice small forward that is vastly underrated. A starting five of Fox, McCollum, Barnes, Covington, and Nurkic could prove to be dangerous in the Western Conference.

As for the Kings, they acquire a top two-point guard to build around. Additionally, they're giving up two future first-round picks while keeping the ninth overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft. That pick in this year's draft is essential to this organization, as they could draft a stud prospect to pair with Lillard or use it as trade bait to acquire another star player. With Lillard leading the way, Buddy Hield at shooting guard, and Bagley III and Richaun Holmes down low, the Kings give themselves a nice core heading into draft day.

It could be a stretch of the imagination but this organization is trying to get back into the postseason by next year. They have a nice young core right now but picking up a superstar or two is what the Kings needs to improve. In this scenario, the Trail Blazers stay competitive and maintain an elite backcourt while the Kings acquire a Dame to take them to the next level.
