Thiago Alves has been out of MMA since 2019 but his name will always be linked with the UFC. The Brazilian has been in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship since 2020 and has gone 2-0 so far.
Coming back to MMA is something the former UFC fighter has spoken about in the past. Thiago Alves was saying he was done with the sport but it appears there’s something that can change his mind.
“I decided to close the door because it was a lot easier on my body just focusing on punching in and not be worried about elbows and knees, and grappling, and all that,” Former UFC fighter Alves told ClutchPoints. “But today I’m open for anything, you know, money talks, if the opportunity is great outside of bare-knuckle boxing then why not? In MMA it’s easy for me as well. I’ve been doing it my whole life. I’m part of the best team in the world ATT! So it’s an easy transition for me, doing either boxing or MMA. Fighting itself is super easy because of my lifestyle. You know, it’s 24/7 combat sports.”
Thiago Alves currently has no plans for a return to MMA and coming back to the UFC seems unlikely. There are plenty of fun fights for him in bare-knuckle as he looks to defend his middleweight belt.
Mike Perry appears to be the best bare-knuckle fight to make for Thiago Alves as he awaits his challenger. The two almost fought when they were in the UFC together a few years ago.
