The Los Angeles Lakers suffered yet another defeat against a cellar-dwelling team, losing to the Atlanta Hawks 117-114 on Tuesday night. The Lakers, who are still trying to get back into the playoff picture, allowed the Hawks to snap a three-game skid at their expense. Now, Los Angeles is under .500 with a 28-29 record. This is the latest in a season a LeBron James-led team has been under .500 since his rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers:

LeBron James finished with 28 points, 16 assists, and 11 rebounds, while Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram added 19 points each while combining for 11 rebounds and two assists. Newly acquired Reggie Bullock had 15 points and five boards as a starter for the second straight game.

Rookie Trae Young led the Hawks with 22 points, 14 assists, and six rebounds, while John Collins also had 22 markers and grabbed eight boards.

The Lakers are in dire need of wins. They have one week to regroup as All-Star Weekend is set to take place. However, their next game after the break will be against James Harden and the Houston Rockets, a team that has defeated them three times already this season.

With the final lap of the season underway, the Lakers' chances of making the playoffs are starting to become smaller and smaller. It is unclear if there will be any changes made between now and post-All-Star break, but Los Angeles needs to figure things out before it's too late.

Hopefully, the All-Star festivities will help this team rest physically and mentally as they gear up for a late postseason push.
