Aleksej Pokusevski recorded his first career triple-double on Sunday night against the league's best team, the Phoenix Suns. Making things even better, it looked like the Oklahoma City Thunder youngster channeled Michael Jordan in the game.

Pokusevski was questionable heading to the showdown because of an illness, and according to Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, the Serbian big man was still experiencing flu-like symptoms entering the game. Despite that, he still finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists to lead Oklahoma City to a 117-96 victory.

“He had flu like symptoms, he was shaking some of that off early. They pressured him playing the point, but once he calibrated that he was really good. He did it all today, even defensively. He was really, really good,” Daigneault shared, per Rylan Stiles of Locked on Thunder.

So can we now say that Aleksej Pokusevski just had his own Flu Game a la Michael Jordan?

While it might be a meaningless game for both teams and it's not even a playoff or a Finals game with a lot on the line, what Pokusevski did was certainly impressive. After all, not a lot of players can record a triple-double in such condition. Scoring and defending are already difficult, but the 20-year-old did more than just that and actually picked the Suns' defense apart using his height and basketball IQ.

Pokusevski is now the 12th youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double. Moreover, the Thunder now have five of the 12 triple-doubles made by a player aged 20 or younger this season–with Josh Giddey owning four of that alongside Poku's latest one.

The second-year Pforward didn't have the best start to the 2021-22 season, and he even found himself playing in the G League as he struggles to get minutes in the Thunder rotation. But with the injury to Darius Bazley and absences of Shai Gilgeus-Alexander and Giddey, Pokusevski got then chance to play point-forward and show the variety of skills he possess.

It is clear that Pokusevski is gaining more confidence in every game, and if he continues to develop and polish his versatile skillset, it won't be long before he gets a regular spot in the rotation. It won't be easy, but he has definitely proven that he has the tools to make it happen.
