Following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury, Oklahoma City Thunder swingman Andre Roberson appears to be nearing his much-awaited return to action. According to Roberson himself, his physical condition from last year has improved greatly, and that he feels he will be back on the floor sooner rather than later.

This is some pretty encouraging news here, especially considering the fact that we haven't seen the 6-foot-7 wing take the floor since January of 2018. Roberson required surgery following a gruesome injury to his knee, which has cost him more than a year on the sidelines.

Roberson went on to provide a bit of an explanation on why his recovery has taken so long. Both the Thunder and Roberson himself do not want to rush anything, as they want to make sure that they take a very cautious approach in dealing with this serious injury.

It is worth noting, however, that Roberson is very non-committal here. No firm timetable has been set with regards to his exact return date, which likely means that his comeback might not happen as soon as most would expect. There have been no reported setbacks recently, though, so hopefully, Roberson is on the right track.

Following a whirlwind of a summer, OKC are now in the midst of a rebuild. At 27, Roberson is not exactly a spring chicken, and with the Thunder not expected to be very competitive this term, this provides the team with further motivation to keep Roberson on the injured list for as long as needed.
